Will exercising for 150 minutes per week be beneficial?

WHO recommends older adults (those 65+ years) should complete at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise per week.

In the case of PD patients due to their physical and mental barriers, these figures seem to be exponential. But we should understand

Exercise. Exercise. Exercise!! It is proving to be beneficial in PD.

  1. Live the life like an athlete i.e. keep a holistic approach to treat Parkinson’s.
  2. Pay more attention on your food, exercise, bowel movements, sleep and stress.
  3. The exercise should be connected to some activity which you already like, i.e. dancing, swimming or cycling.
  4. High Intensity exercises are beneficial.
  5. For those who are not able to perform high intensity exercises, spending more time on light intensity exercises is equally beneficial.
  6. Exercising along with cognitive challenges is more beneficial.
  7. Focus more on lifestyle modifications.
